After the central government took decision of hike of dearness allowance from 17% to 28% making a direct 11% hike in basic salaries of its government employees, most of the states rapidly took action of increasing the dearness allowance for their government employees. Seeing all this the employees of Madhya Pradesh government also demanded for Mehangai Bhatta/dearness allowance. It has been months so far the government of Madhya Pradesh has not decided to increase the pending dearness allowance for its government employees.

Actually the central government had already given 5% extra dearness allowance compare to the state of Madhya Pradesh in 2019, that was in held by the Kamalnath INC government in Madhya Pradesh. Different states also increased the 5% pending DA for their government employees unlike the changed Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan in 2020 curbed the order of increment of dearness allowance by then congress government. Some states were already in better position in dearness allowance matters.
After the central government increased dearness allowance again in 2021 July, different states' government employees protested demanding for increment in dearness allowance including the employees of Madhya Pradesh. But other states have passed order of increment for dearness allowance for their government employees but the Madhya Pradesh has not yet done. Other states did because of their willingness and compulsion for election reasons (there is an election in Uttar Pradesh in near months). But the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh do not want to increase dearness allowance for Madhya Pradesh government employees.

The economical condition of the state of Madhya Pradesh is not bad, there is huge potential of money. Inflation in Madhya Pradesh is highest since ever now and government collected necessary money from its citizen in the name of CM Covid relief fund. So the reason of coronavirus for the curbing in increasing dearness allowance is not justifying. Time has passed and the government employees of Madhya Pradesh seems to be working in underemployment. They do not get extra benefits like central government employees who usually get about double income for similar posts to that of state government posts.
There is no near election in Madhya Pradesh and seem no willingness for increasing mehangai bhatta for Madhya Pradesh government employees. This is the reason why the government employees raised same amount that they raised in July month and is raising in this month August salary in September.
There is a possibility of increasing 5% in dearness allowance for Madhya Pradesh government employees on the occasion of Diwali that is on 4 November 2021. So the government employees of Madhya Pradesh will somehow get next dearness allowance hike in their payslip in next year means in January 2021. Another thing for the state government is avoiding the government employees is that the employees seem to be lazy who do not care getting their rights unlike other state employees did.
