Raju, Shalu and Kalua
Raju is Shalu's elder brother. They have a dog. They call it Kalu. The three of them like to play together. They go to a nearby pond along with their uncle. Raju and Shalu play in water. Their uncle sits on a rock. "Do not go in deep water," says uncle. The children call, "Come in Kalu. It's fun. It's fun in water. Come, come, come!" Kalu comes in. It likes water. "It's fun in water," says Raju. "I have a ball," says Shalu. "Here is the ball, Kalu," says Shalu. She throws the ball. "Get the ball Kalu," says Raju. Kalu runs for the ball. Kalu likes to have fun. Shalu and Raju like to have fun. They all enjoy fun in water.

राजू, शालू और कालू
राजू शालू का बड़ा भाई है। उनके पास एक कुत्ता है। उसे वे कालू कहकर पुकारते हैं। वे तीनों एक साथ खेलना पसंद करते हैं। वे पास के तालाब में उनके चाचा के साथ जाते हैं। राजू और शालू पानी में खेलते हैं। उनके चाचा एक पत्थर पर बैठते हैं। ''अधिक गहरे पानी में मत जाओ'' चाचा कहते हैं। बच्चे बुलाते हैं, ''आओ कालू। मज़ा आ रहा है। पानी में बड़ा मज़ा आ रहा है। आओ, आओ, आओ!'' कालू पानी में चला आता है। वह (कालू) पानी पसंद करता है। ''पानी में मज़ा आ रहा है'', राजू कहता है। ''मेरे पास एक गेंद है'', शालू कहती है। ''यहां गेंद है, कालू'', शालू कहती है। वह (शालू) गेंद फेंकती है। ''गेंद पकड़ो कालू'', राजू कहता है। कालू गेंद पकड़ने के लिए दौड़ता है। कालू को मज़ा अच्छा लगता है। शालू और राजू को मज़ा अच्छा लगता है। वे सभी पानी में मज़े करते हैं।

Complete these sentences using the picture clues (तस्वीर की मदद से इन वाक्यों को पूरा करिये).
1. Savita likes apples. (सविता को सेब पसंद हैं)

3. Bala likes pomegranates. (बाला को अनार पसंद हैं)
4. Appu, the elephant likes bananas. (अप्पू, हाथी को केले पसंद हैं)

a) Make sentences from the following table and write (नीचे दी गई तालिका से वाक्य बनाइए और लिखिए).
Monu likes sweets. (मोनू मीठा पसंद करता है)
Golu likes icecream. (गोलू आईसक्रीम पसंद करता है)
An elephant likes bananas. (हाथी केले पसंद करता है)
Jitu likes tea. (जीतू चाय पसंद करता है)
A cat likes milk. (बिल्ली दूध पसंद करती है)
b) Make sentences from the following table and write (नीचे दिये गये तालिका से वाक्य बनाइए और लिखिए).
Raju likes to play football. (राजू फुटबॉल खेलना पसंद करता है)
Shalu likes to sing songs. (शालू गाना गाना पसंद करती है)
Matru, the monkey likes to climb trees. (मटरू, बन्दर पेड़ में चढ़ना पसंद करता है)
नोट (Note) - राजू और शालू के साथ कोई भी प्रेडिकेट लगा सकते हैं, क्योंकि सिर्फ बन्दर ही है जो पेड़ पर चढ़ने के अलावा अन्य कार्य नहीं कर सकता है। (We can use any predicate with Raju and Shalu subjects, because only Matru, the monkey cannot do other tasks except climbing on trees.)
Let's Talk and Write (चलो बात करें और लिखें)
a) The teacher will introduce all the students in the following way (शिक्षक सभी विद्यार्थियों से निम्न तरह से परिचय कराएंगे) -
Raj - This is Mohan. (राज - यह मोहन है)
Mohan - This is Raj. (मोहन - यह राज है)
Shalu - This is Kamla. (शालू - यह कमला है)
Kamla - This is Sheela. (कमला - यह शीला है)
नोट (Note) - किसी का परिचय कराने के लिए दिस इज का प्रयोग करते हैं। (This is is used to introduce anyone/thing.)
The students will introduce each other and write. (विद्यार्थी एक-दूसरे का परिचय कराएंगे और लिखेंगे)
b) Write about yourself (अपने बारे में लिखिए).
I am Abhishek. (मैं अभिषेक हूँ) - name - नाम
I like pomegranate. (मैं अनार पसंद करता हूँ) - fruit - फल
I like potato. (मैं आलू पसंद करता हूँ) - vegetable - सब्जी
I like to play hockey. (मैं हॉकी खेलना पसंद करता हूँ) - action - क्रिया
I like to sing hindi songs. (मैं हिन्दी गाने गाना पसंद करता हूँ) - action - क्रिया
c) Go around the class and find out from your friends which fruit and activity they like. Ask the given questions and write them in the table. (कक्षा में जाइए और अपने दोस्तों से पूँछिये कि उन्हें कौन सा फल और कार्य करना पसंद हैं। जो किताब में प्रश्न दिये हैं उन्हें पूँछिये और तालिका में लिखिए)
An example is given for you. Which fruit do you like? (आप कौन-सा फल पसंद करते हैं?)
Which activity do you like? (आपको कौन-सी गतिविधि अच्छी लगती है?)
Let’s Do (चलो करते हैं)
Draw the fruits that you like and colour them (फलों का रेखाचित्र बनाइए जिसे आप पसंद करते हैं और कलर भरिये).
