The central government of India and most of the state governments have increased dearness allowance for their employees & officers. The increment in dearness allowance (DA) was pending for years before because of the outbreak of coronavirus. After the second wave of year 2021, government of India decided to increase the dearness allowance for its government employees. Following the footprints of the central government many states also increased the dearness allowance for their employees.

It is ponderable that the Madhya Pradesh government had already increased the pending dearness allowance for July 2019 in late March 2020 when the government of Madhya Pradesh was changing from Kamalnath led congress to Shivraj led BJP. But stating the cause of COVID-19, Madhya Pradesh government after taking charge as CM, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, withdrew the order of increasing of dearness allowance.
Now the story comes here that most of the states and the central government has already increased the pending dearness allowances and most of these states had already increased the pending DA for the session that the Madhya Pradesh government had already stopped. Current dearness allowance that Madhya Pradesh government employees get is 12% of the basic pay while other states' employees including the central government employees were enjoying 5% more dearness allowance than the employees of Madhya Pradesh.
After the increment of DA by the central government, many state's government employees also protested for their rights for pending increments, promotions and mainly for Dearness Allowances. Madhya Pradesh government employees also protested for their rights demanding for increased DA and increase in pending increments that was hanged because of the coronavirus outbreak. After a huge and continuous protest the government of Madhya Pradesh released an order for giving the pending dearness allowance to its government employees but did not take a step for increasing pending dearness allowance.
Resultant, the gap between the central & other state government's to MP government because a critical 16% of gap in dearness allowance. Since the protest in Madhya Pradesh was in late month of July, therefore they did not continued the protest in next month hoping the government will increase the pending DA. But it is 2 months passed, the Madhya Pradesh government has not increased dearness allowance for its government employees. Seeing all this, the government employees and officers union of Madhya Pradesh have released a official letter stating they will conduct a huge protest on 8th September, 2021. The union will put demand for increasing dearness allowance and will also make a plan for further protests for demanding the increment in dearness allowance.
The union has clearly said they were hoping that the Madhya Pradesh government will increase the dearness allowance but the government did not respond anything on this matter that shows the BJP ruled government is ignoring them. This is a good sign for Madhya Pradesh government employees because now it is sure that the dearness allowance will be increased soon. We can hope the increment within 2 months, before Diwali. But it is other thing that how much increment in dearness allowances will be done by the ruling government because they do not seem willingly increase dearness allowance.
