HOW TO KNOW LOCATION OF RANDOM MICRO SOFT WORD (.DOCX) / DOCUMENT FILE ON YOUR COMPUTER ?

 Hello friends! My name is Abhishek. You all know me for a long time for my support on Technology, Computers, Job Alerts and much more. Today in this article I am going to share you a trick, that will help you while working on your Computer/ Laptop at your office. Using this method you can prove yourself smarter among workmates. 

Many times while working at Office you forget the location of a particular file. Mostly we work on Micro-Soft Word Files. So we need to access them. Many times you must have seen that you have opened the document file but are unable to know the location of the file. So today I am going to mention the steps of finding the location of word file on your computer within 1 minute. So let's begin.

HOW TO KNOW LOCATION OF RANDOM MICRO SOFT WORD (.DOCX) / DOCUMENT FILE ON YOUR COMPUTER ?

Let's you are working on a MS Document file. You have to send this file to someone, or you need to make some corrections or conversions. Recent opened files are appeared on MS Word, but those files are generally unable to intimate you the location of the file. If you know the file location, it becomes simple for you to work smoothly at office. So have a look on steps for ensuring the location of word file.

Step 1- Open MS Word and search for file you want the location by recent tab, or randomly selecting any word file. You can create a new file too, and save at random location to cross check it.

Step 2- Your word file is prepared, now you cannot see the file location. To ensure the location for the file you need to click on blank ribbon bar, like mentioned in the picture below.

Step 3- A horizontal dialogue box will be shown. Having three options (Customize Quick Access Toolbar, Show Quick Access Toolbar Above the Ribbon, Minimize the Ribbon), you have to choose the first one - Customize Quick Access Toolbar.

Step 4- As you click at that command, a new dialogue box will be opened. In the left menu, Customize option is already selected, in the middle option "Customize the Quick Access Toolbar and keyboard shortcuts." is shown, you need to choose "Commands Not in the Ribbon" under "Choose commands from" list.

Step 5- As you choose "Commands Not in the Ribbon" a list of numerous commands will be opened and these commands are arranged alphabetically. You have to go for "Document Location" and click on that to choose the command. Now just right side you will be seeing "Add>>" option, click on that, and the command will be chosen and will be started showing at right side for "Customize Quick Access Toolbar". Make sure you select "For all documents (default)" from drop-down box for applying this command in all new and existing word document files.

Step 6- Finally click on "Ok" button for final confirmation for this command.

Step 7- Now look the file directory of the file is reflecting on your screen. You can see the location of your document file. You can select and copy the file location and then search at search box exploring My Computer option, and can perform any task that you want with this file.
