Many state boards, like Madhya Pradesh State Board for Secondary Education had already cancelled Board exam for metric students. Afterward the student of intermediate also demanded for exam cancellation.

On June 1st, 2021 the Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations released press notification stating the board examination for class 12th/intermediate is cancelled now. A general promotion will be given to students on the basis of marks gain in internal/pre-board/unit-test examinations.

CBSE stated - " The Board Examinations for Class-XII which were postponed vide Notification NO.CBSE/CE/Exam.2021 dated 14.04.2021 are hereby cancelled.

Class-XII assessment will be made as per well-defined objective criteria in a time bound manner. It is decided that any student who is not satisfied with the assessment, an option to appear in the examinations would be provided by CBSE as an when the situation becomes conducive."

While CISCE stated - "In view of the present situation of the Covid-19 Pandemic in the country, the CISCE has decided to CANCEL the ISC (ClassXII) Year 2021 Examination. The safety, health and well-being of our students, teaching faculty and all stakeholders in our topmost priority and of paramount interest.

The results will be processed on a mechanism which will also include the internal examinations conducted by the schools. The schools will be informed in due course of time, of this mechanism.

After the declaration of the ISC (CLass XII) Year 2021 results, if some candidates are not satisfied with the marks awarded to them, the CISCE will give an option to such candidates to write the ISC (Class XII) Year 2021 Examination at a later date, when the situation is conducive to conduct the same."

There is nothing mentioned clearly that how the marks will be awarded for final results. But hope previous class performance, and unit tests/pre-exams will play vital role.
