Recently the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh stated in a press conference that corruption by government employees in offices or out of offices will not be tolerated and strong action against them will be taken. Other side, this statement is stated during the protest by government employees/officers for last few months demanding for clearance of increments, dearness allowances and other demanding. Statement on corruption by the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji is conveying strong messages and it could be an information against those employees who are protesting for their rights. Actually I am also being a victim of corruption in daily life in both private and government sectors. Today in this article I am going to discuss about the reasons of corruption in government offices and goodness of demanding by the government employees of Madhya Pradesh.

Before starting the article I would like to introduce myself. I am Abhishek, working in MP Public Prosecution Department (Police), Home Department of Madhya Pradesh Government. My posting is in Deosar Court, Singrauli, MP. I am in police department and work as a bridge between dressed police and court. I see daily routine and problems of government employees and all those problems that is faced by me will also be disclosed here.
CORRUPTION & ITS REASON IN MADHYA PRADESH GOVERNMENT OFFICES | HOW GOOD IS TO DEMAND DEARNESS ALLOWANCE BY MP GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES?
Corruption is that money, donation, gift or any kind of thing that is taken to perform any work ethically or unethically getting personal benefits. Usually, there are mainly two reasons of doing corruption by government employees/officers. First one is greed, and second one is need. Most of the employees/officers fall in first one category, they have sufficient money to lead good life, but they greed for better and greed for collect more for their children. This makes them commit corruption, and this corruption is not only bound within a border of small employees but it is extended to big officers and politicians. Many news come out when media raids them and it is really unfortunate for the region, society.
Second one is need, many small employees, officers do corruption because they get less amount and have much responsibilities/problems in their lives. They do corruption to maintain their livelihood. Most of people blame police constables for corruption, but many times these police men are forced to commit such corruption. They are bound in need. Other thing, Babu or clerical staffs are blamed for do so, they have also do corruption because they get very few amount for their work, this is the reason of current protesting demanding Grade Pay 2400/- from 1900/- (this is known as Lipik Vetan Visangati).
I say, both the mode of corruption is not good for society and for human being, but it will not be stopped as fulfilling need is human tendency. Government can curb the corruption by highly surveillance and by increasing the Grade Pay of Clerical staffs. Demanding for hike in dearness allowance can also reduce burden from government employees and officers. So state government must think of increasing the DA (Madhya Pradesh Mehangai Bhatta) from 12% to 28% as soon as possible. If the central government revises any perks, the state government must give that benefit soon, so that the employees could be motivated and perform well for wellness of the state.
Other fact is that, most of the perks given to government employees of Madhya Pradesh is outdated. A person will 1900/- GP usually get 379 House Rent Allowance, now you can analyze that who will today get a room to live in just for 379 per month? Police Constables get 16-20 Rs. for cycle fare, it is really laughable. The condition of government employees in Madhya Pradesh is like working in underemployment. It is really problematic.
So corruption can only be curbed by giving good perks to employees of government of Madhya Pradesh by increasing the grade pay of clerical staffs and providing timely dearness allowances and house rent allowances to its employees.
