        While working on computer, you need to open Gmail tab again and again to see new gmail messages. How good will it be if you do not have to open Gmail tab each time when you get any vital mail. So, not to worry about it. In this article we are going to discuss about Gmail desktop notification. 

Gmail Desktop Notifications

        If you are working on your computer and you want to get gmail alerts without opening the tab, or without surfing internet, this is possible. This is also work if you are not working on any application, you are on desktop. You will get these notification on bottom right of your desktop/computer. This is same alike getting notifications from Facebook or Twitter.

Now let's talk about the steps of enabling the gmail notification on desktop -

1.  Go to your gmail and login on your dashboard.

2. On the Top right, Click on Setting, a list of menu will be opened. Click again on setting option.

3. A new window will be opened. Stay on the "General Setting" option. Scroll down, you will find "Desktop notifications" option. You have three options here. By default the third one " Mail notifications is off" is chosen. You can choose any above two options as per your convenience. First one is " New mail notifications on", the second one is "Important mail notifications on".

4. Let you choose the first one, "New mail notifications on", you will be notified when any new message arrives in your inbox or primary tab.

5. In final you have to scroll down and choose the "save changes" option.

        Congratulations, now you will be getting the desktop notification of any mail on your Gmail. Still you will get notification if your are not working on Gmail. But mind, you have to be logged in your Gmail on your computer, whether on Google Chrome or any web browser.
