Govt Decided to Increase 4% DA - a big Gift before Diwali

As the central government decided to increased the existing dearness allowance from 42% to 46%, many states started taking decisions to revise the dearness allowance of government employees. As the central government increased the DA by 4%, Odisha, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu increased the dearness allowance for its government employees within a week.

Yesterday the CM of Haryana Hon. Manohar Lal Khattar announced for an increment in salary of government employee by making a hike in dearness allowance by 4%. This hike is based on the All India Consumer Price Index from 1 January 2023 to 30 June 2023. The Haryana government decided to increase the dearness allowance from 1 July 2023, remaining months arrears will also be paid.

Other side some states are also planning to increase the Dearness Allowance & Dearness Relief for relevant government employees but due to enforced code of conduct because of further assembly elections states are seeking for an approval from election commission. The government employees of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are eagerly to see a hike in DA. An update is coming from Rajasthan that the state has already sent a proposal request file to the election commission of India to get compliance for hike in DA before Diwali. The government employees of these states were assuming a hike before Dussehra like the central government did, but it's nearly clear that the government employees of these states need to wait furthermore.

News updates are coming from sources that the states would grant the hike in DA before Diwali in next month (most probably in first week). Thus the payable dearness allowance and dearness relief in these states may hike by 4% and would result a total 46% dearness allowance from 1 July 2023.
